For those of you who asked about the Electronic System Travel Authorisation (ESTA) for entrance into the USA at Saturday's meeting, please see below the link to the USA Department of Homeland Security who manage this process and a screenshot of what it's about.  You don't have to do it now as it can be done closer to the departure date to the USA. The ESTA is valid for 2 years from the date of approval or if your passport expires in the interim.

At the time of arrival in the USA, you must have a minimum of 6 months to the date of expiry on your passport.

Australia is on the list for the Visa Waiver program so if you're travelling on an Aussie Passport it's ok. If you are using another country's passport, you will need to check the list of countries to ensure the country is on the visa waiver list. This information can be found on the ESTA web page
